Mmm!  OK.  Think you know your your verbs?  Then take a test!
ONLINE PRACTICE - TAKE A TEST - IN GRAMMATICA
We now have a few practice tests that you can work through.  Go through them again and again as practice.  Do them over again until you can get a perfect score. Don't expect them all to be easy though - these are meant to test you.

Amo a blog
Come on and practice that Italian!  Blog it!
The most practical advice all my language tutors tried to give me was to try and write a little Italian every day. Not being a diary type person I find this very hard. But this is what our blog is for - a little invaluable occassional practice.
Come on, come on, come on.  The more you practice the more others will be encouraged to do so.  In our  blog you can just write a few lines on anything.  eg. I have had a bad hair day - well as a man who is folically challeged I won't be writing that!  Anyway, it can be more chatty, diary like, anything, just for the practice.

I CAME ACROSS a very interesting Italian blog page last month.  It's called The Smiling Eggplant- no I don't know why - but the owner gave me permission to share some of her items with you.   So here below I share her info on a word that I have often wondered about.  So who will be the first to use it in conversation?

Meanwhile, those useful phrases that we had on this page for the last month or so - did you learn them?  Well you can find them now in the Grammatica section, in the new test yourself page.  Check out what you can remember.

That funny word - Boh!

This little word is a very informal exclamation to express your ignorance of the question put to you. It has no equivalent word in English because English-speaking people know everything, thus eliminating the need for such an expression.

Some examples:

Quanto fanno due piu' due?
Boh!
How much is two plus two?
Dunno.

Qual e' il significato della vita?
Boh!
What is the meaning of life?
Beats me.

Perche' la gallina ha attraversato la strada?
Boh!
Why did the chicken cross the road?
Search me.

Toc toc.
Chi c'e'?
Boh!
Knock knock.
Who's there?
Have no idea.

Essere o non essere?
Boh!
To be or not to be?
Hell if I know.

NOTE: For those of us who have been studying 'Io non ho paura'... The full English version , "I Am Not Scared", is available from Amazon for 1p.  Yes, for one penny!  Plus £2.75 postage though. That is still pretty good value for a brand new book delivered to your door.
Amazons own price is £4.48, but look at the other suppliers to find the 1p copy.
